How has it already been 9 months? After Emma went to sleep last night, as most nights we do, Jonathan and I just stood over her crib, saying nothing, just staring. I know what I was thinking and can imagine he was thinking the same thing. What did we do before her? What did we do to deserve this beautiful gift from God? Wow, she's beautiful! How do I protect her from this crazy world? As I prayed, I asked God to help us to be wise and obedient parents. As a my friend Catie has said, the hardest thing about parenting is your own discipline (wow is she right)!! I am thankful for the past 18 months (9 months of pregnancy; 9 months of my precious!) and I pray for a healthy, happy, and faith filled life for my precious one!!!
Emma now has one tooth and one on the way. When we were home for Thanksgiving Emma girl got her first tooth (bottom right) and now the second is about to break the skin. I wouldn't say teething is taken lightly in our house. She might be a little dramatic, OK a lot dramatic (once again, wonder where she picked that up)!!
We had some Christmas pictures taken this past weekend! We usually can't get Emma to stop smiling and you would know the minute we have professional pics taken, it was like pulling teeth to get a smile. I know she was thinking what are you crazy people jumping up and down and acting like clowns for. Well, we did manage to get a few smiles, but I do really like the way these more serious shots turned out too!

Oh Shane - you have me all teary as I begin my morning. Beautiful post. Beautiful heart. BEAUTIFUL baby.
She is so beautiful! Like Maria, I too got all teary-eyed. Sweet face. Merry Christmas!
What a gift that we were able to spend time with her in her house! I can't wait see you... a few weeks, right?
SHE IS PRECIOUS! Your header picture is awesome! Looks just like a magazine :)
Event without a smile she is beautiful. And I love the smocked bishop. It is hard to remember life before children. It is different but so worth it.
